Foldable design saves space and reduces costs

Foldable for both idle and return trips, saving storage and transportation space, reducing fuel costs, and suitable for batch transportation needs of livestock such as chickens, ducks, and rabbits.

Robust and high load-bearing capacity, damage-resistant and stress-resistant

Cold-drawn steel wire and U-shaped steel base welding are resistant to impact and trampling; no sharp corners to avoid scratching livestock and poultry, reducing mortality rates.

Multi-layer stacking, efficient transportation

The cage has a raised and recessed positioning structure at the top and bottom, and can be stacked 5-8 layers when fully loaded, which greatly saves space during transportation and storage. Stable stacking prevents tipping, fully utilizes cargo space, increases single-trip transport capacity, suitable for long-distance bulk transportation of chicks and rabbits.

Rust-proof and easy to clean, meets disease prevention standards

Galvanized/powder-coated for rust prevention and corrosion resistance Mesh structure prevents manure accumulation, easy to wash and disinfect, preventing cross-infection of diseases.

Compatible with multiple loading and unloading equipment, labor-saving and convenient

Can be used with forklifts, pallet jacks, and cranes for loading and unloading, reducing manual handling, suitable for batch slaughtering scenarios such as adult chickens and breeding rabbits.

Specifications can be customized and are suitable for all categories

Wire diameter and mesh size can be customized to fit different sizes of livestock and poultry, preventing leakage and pinching; the customized version with a board can prevent young livestock and poultry from falling.

Advantages of FamTECH’s one piece chicken cages for transport

Main Material: The main frame is constructed from 6-8mm diameter hot-dip galvanized steel pipes, while the mesh is made of 2-3mm thick hot-dip galvanized steel wire welded mesh. The entire structure undergoes zinc immersion rust prevention treatment, making it resistant to the humid environment of livestock farms and preventing corrosion from manure and moisture. Its service life is 8-10 years.

Performance Standards: It withstands 100 cycles of a 200N load without significant deformation and remains undamaged under a 2000N load. After artificial accelerated aging, heat aging, and corrosion tests with grease and gasoline, it shows no discoloration, cracking, or peeling.

Escape and Pinch Prevention: The precisely designed mesh prevents the heads and hooves of chickens, ducks, and rabbits from getting stuck.

Easy Cleaning and Disinfection: The mesh structure does not accumulate manure, allowing for quick drying after rinsing. It can withstand high-pressure water jets and disinfectant sprays, reducing the risk of disease transmission.

Why choose FamTECH’s poultry cages for transport

Highly Efficient Space Utilization: The multi-layer stacking design increases the single-transfer capacity of a 6.8-meter truck by 2-3 times (e.g., 12 sets of 11-layer high combinations can accommodate the transfer of thousands of poultry). The slot-type positioning ensures stable stacking and eliminates the risk of deformation.

Convenient Loading, Unloading, and Maintenance: Compatible with truck tailgates, forklifts, and other equipment. Lifting rings are pre-installed on the sides of the cages. The self-locking screw installation structure allows for manual assembly of a single set in one minute. The mesh panels are removable and replaceable, reducing maintenance costs.

Reference dimensions of poultry transport cages

There are no mandatory national standards for metal cages used for transporting chickens. The core requirement is to match the cages to the chickens’ age and weight. The following are the mainstream market specifications (length × width × height, unit: cm). FamTECH provides customization service.

Multi-layer transport cages for chickens (suitable for broilers / layers / chicks)

Applicable TypeLayer Dimension (L×W×H/cm)Mesh Specification (cm)Single-layer Loading Capacity
Chicks (1-4 weeks old)90×55×221×140-50 birds
Growing Chickens (1-2kg)90×55×252×215-20 birds
Adult Chickens (2.5-3.5kg)90×55×282.5×2.510-12 birds

Multi-layer transport cages for ducks (suitable for meat ducks / laying ducks / ducklings)

Core Design Differences: Designed for ducks’ water-loving habits and wet manure characteristics. The bottom adopts a tilted hollow steel plate + drainage holes structure, with detachable manure collection trays installed under each layer to connect with the truck’s sewage discharge system; the mesh is coated with a waterproof layer to reduce corrosion by water vapor.

Specifications:

  • Duckling Cages: 90×55×22cm, mesh 1×1cm, single-layer loading capacity: 35-40 ducklings
  • Adult Duck Cages: 90×55×30cm, mesh 2×2cm, single-layer loading capacity: 8-10 adult ducks; rubber buffer strips fitted on side rails to reduce collision injuries to duck flocks

Multi-layer transport cages for rabbits (suitable for young rabbits / adult rabbits)

Core Design Differences: Considering rabbits are easily frightened and good at jumping, the layer height is controlled at 25-28cm with anti-jump nets fitted on the top; detachable plastic partitions are built into each layer, which can be divided into 4-6 independent small units to reduce fighting and biting.

Specifications:

  • Young Rabbit Cages: 80×50×22cm, mesh 0.8×0.8cm, single-layer loading capacity: 25-30 young rabbits
  • Adult Rabbit Cages: 80×50×28cm, mesh 1.5×1.5cm, single-layer loading capacity: 4-6 adult rabbits; anti-slip mats laid on the bottom to protect rabbit paws from damage

Usage and maintenance precautions of the poultry cages for transport

Loading Density Control: When transporting chickens and ducks, reduce the loading by 10%-15% in summer to avoid heat stress; increase it appropriately in winter, but avoid overcrowding. Rabbits should be transported in separate pens, with no more than 6 adult rabbits per cage to prevent biting injuries.

Transport Securing: When stacking cages, align the positioning buckles and secure them to the transport vehicle with straps to prevent the cages from tipping or slipping due to vehicle bumps.

Maintenance: After each use, rinse off feces and residue with a high-pressure water gun. After drying, check for detached mesh and loose locks; repair welding or replace parts as needed. Avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight or immersion in water. Regularly spray with rust inhibitor to extend service life.

How to Transport Live Poultry Long Distances?

  1. Prepare for Shipment:

7-10 days before shipment, gradually change the poultry’s feeding habits according to the feeding standards and methods during transport to improve their adaptability, reduce stress, and lower weight loss. 1. All equipment used for transporting poultry must be rinsed with a 3% sodium hydroxide solution beforehand. Escort personnel should carry valid documents such as ID cards, driver’s licenses, and certificates of origin and disinfection to ensure smooth delivery to the destination.

  1. Choosing a Transportation Vehicle

For short distances and small quantities, bamboo baskets or cardboard boxes can be used. The transport vehicle should be lined with clean straw and surrounded by cloth or plastic film. For long distances and large quantities, trucks can be used. Use bamboo or wire cages, lining the bottom with clean straw, and secure the cages together with soft wire. During transport, windows should be kept open for ventilation. Regularly check the temperature and humidity inside the transport vehicle and monitor the health of the poultry, promptly cleaning up droppings and providing feed and water.

  1. Solutions for Stress Reactions in Poultry During Transportation

Poultry are often in a state of high stress during transportation, with increased energy consumption and enhanced basal metabolism. The protein content in their feed should be increased by 1%-2%, and lysine and multivitamins should be added as needed according to the instructions.
